How do I add a workout in Hexis?

How to add, edit, and delete a workout in the Athlete App or Coach Hub, and how intensity is measured.

Use this article to add, edit, or delete a workout, whether you're doing it yourself in the Athlete App or your coach is planning it for you in the Coach Hub.

Adding a workout in the Athlete App

  1. Tap the blue + icon in your navigation bar.

  2. Choose your activity — pick from your Favourites at the top, or tap the + icon to browse the full activity list.

  3. Optional: give the session a title.

  4. Set the planned start time and duration.

  5. Select the intensity of the session. (See "How is intensity measured?" below.)

  6. If relevant, use the toggles to mark the session as a Competition or Key Performance workout.

  7. Tap Save.

The more accurate you can be with activity type, intensity, and duration, the more precisely Hexis can personalise your fuelling plan around this session.

Adding a workout in the Coach Hub

  1. Log in to the Coach Hub and navigate to the athlete you're planning for.

  2. Select the day you want to add the session to.

  3. Tap the + icon.

  4. Choose the workout type.

  5. Optional: give the session a title.

  6. Set the start time and duration.

  7. Optional: enter exercise energy expenditure if you have accurate data (e.g. from a power meter) — Hexis will estimate this for you if left blank.

  8. Select the intensity of the session.

  9. If relevant, mark the session as Key Performance or Competition.

  10. Optional: add a coaching note or reminder for the athlete.

  11. Tap Save.

Your athlete's Fuel Plan updates immediately, and they'll be notified that a new session has been added.

Editing a workout

  1. Tap the workout you want to edit.

  2. Make your changes, then tap Save.

Deleting a workout

There are two ways to remove a workout:

  • From the workout itself: tap the workout, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Workout.

  • From your calendar (Athlete App only): find the workout on your calendar and swipe it to the left to remove it.

Either method updates your Fuel Plan immediately to reflect the change.

FAQs

How is workout intensity measured?

Hexis uses a 0-100 intensity scale - enter any value in that range to reflect how hard the session was, or is planned to be.

If your workout is synced from a connected integration (e.g. TrainingPeaks, Whoop, or Apple Health) and a completed session comes through, Hexis will automatically update the intensity based on your actual data - overwriting whatever intensity was originally planned.

Giving each workout as accurate an intensity as possible improves the accuracy of your fuelling recommendations.

What's the difference between a Competition and a Key Performance workout?

  • Competition - competitive events, including games, matches, and races. Marking a session as a Competition may increase your carbohydrate and energy recommendations in the lead-up to it.

  • Key Performance - your most important training sessions of the week, where the focus is on performing at your best. Marking a session as Key Performance may increase your carbohydrate recommendations in the lead-up to it.
